Tauwhirowhiro is our Transitions service providing advice, support and assistance to rangatahi aged 15-25yrs who have left Oranga Tamariki care or custody. The focus of this service is to help rangatahi become independent and capable of standing on their own two feet. Each approach is individualised, case-by-case and responsive to their changing needs, particularly when during times of crisis. The relationship between rangatahi and kaimahi is based on mutual respect, one of the reasons Te Hou Ora is Oranga Tamariki’s preferred Transitional service.

Key points

Rangatahi has an existing relationship with THO or is identified through referral.
Age range between 15-25.
